Continuing Education Scheme at Kashmir at Government Polytechnic.
Under the World Bank Tech Ed-III Project a Continuing
Education cell has been formed to promote informal education
in technical fields. The Cell is aimed at imparting need
based customized, continuing education programs both of
long term & short term duration. The need & scope
of continuing education is increasing day by day with
fast technological developments across the globe and improved
quality of life. These Technological changes have necessitated
constant skill up gradations of already working personal
at shop floor. Kashmir Government Polytechnic has conducted
following nine tailor- made continuing education programs
during last two years for the working personals of various
government & private organizations:-

K.G. Polytechnic has conducted various Continuing Education
Programs, in the past i.e. before implementation of World
Bank Tech. Ed-III Project which include:- o 9 Months Condensed
course for in-service Sectional officers/Junior Engineers
of Rural Development Departments. o 3 months course for
Bio-gas Mechanics of Agriculture Department o Course for
tracers of Power Development Department o Course for Electricians
of Power Development Department o Line men course for Power
Development Department Recently five employees of SIDCO
have completed 9 months condensed course in Civil Engg.
who are being awarded with the certificate on 15-10-04.
Continuing Education Program is quite useful in encouraging
dedicated and enthusiastic staff of Government Semi government
Public Under-taking and Private Organizations by helping
them to upgrade the knowledge and skill and there by making
them fit for undertaking higher responsibilities. Continuing
Education programs being self financed also ensure optimum
use of existing resources without any finical burden on
the Institution. Moreover the trainees having paid themselves
for their training program take such courses very seriously
which ensures total reception of the given inputs by them.
